The strong and powerful colour story guided me through the somewhat mystical creative process in this piece. By the end, the finished piece emerged from the deep seated realms of my intuition. The texture, physical and visual, and the materials used, add a level of depth that invites you into the painting and get lost in the beautiful world beyond the clouds.

Ego shorn,
I stand as a new man,
I stand transformed,
It’s a rebirth.

Ego shorn,
I can see myself in a new light,
It’s an emergence
of someone behind the veil.

Ego shorn,
I tread a new path,
I’m no more running a blind race,
A new day is dawning.

Ego shorn,
Here I’m reborn,
Out of the gloom,
I stand on a platform,
I see a wide range.

Ego shorn,
I’m awake in a new world,
I walk under blue skies,
I can see what lies ahead,
I’m undaunted in my search.
