Abstracts are magical.

For me abstracts are highly reliant on intentions, gut feelings, intuitions, and deep connections with our heart & soul. They are pure magic - as they inspire you to feel and allow you to dream.

My use of texture in my work creates a level of depth that invites you into the painting - to explore, to dream your way through and to feel the energies flow from me to you. It makes you come ALIVE - like a breath of fresh air.

With this experience I want to inspire you to unleash your own potentials and quench that craving thirst for a life in full colour, on your own terms.

The Artist: Magdalena Mahdy

Magdalena has always creatively explored her world from an early age. Growing up in a small town in the North of Germany, she has discovered her artistic passions when she was mere a few years old. Wherever she'd go she would constantly engage in creative hobbies; drawing, painting, creative writing or playing imaginary made-up games alike. There were no limits to her imagination. Whilst some form of art was always a companion growing up, it wasn't until she'd spend a year abroad in the US as a teenager that she discovered her real talent for drawing and painting. So much so, that she decided to switch her A-levels to Art, upon her return to Germany to finish her high school degree.

The creative explorations continued and accompanied Magdalena throughout her early adulthood as well, especially when she eventually turned her passion to photography. Street photography, landscapes and portraits were her favourite subject matter. They required different sets of skills and trained her eye for composition, colour as well as her other artistic senses. She passionately worked in the photography field for many years throughout her late 20s and 30s. But it wasn’t until the sudden death of her father that Magdalena came back to the canvas and picked up another paint brush again. And she hasn’t put it down since.

At first it truly enabled her to grieve the loss of her father and work through her emotions, but eventually it sparked something deeper within her, and she rekindled her passion and talent for it. Craving more knowledge and skills to improve her level of accuracy in realism as well as the understanding of the elements of art, at the age of 38, Magdalena enrolled in the Mastery Program at the Milan Art Institute and trained to become a professional artist.

"It takes courage to pursue your passion and joy at a later stage in life, but the calling to be an artist was so abundantly great that I had no choice but to finally listen."

Magdalena’s colourful and intuitive artworks are a testament to how she perceives life – bright, bold and in full colour. She dives into her highly intuitive creative practice full heartedly and the images that emerge on her easel depict the intention and energy she injects into them. Like a punch to the gut, her work inspires you to feel and dream about life – a life in full colour with a sole purpose of joy and passion.

“My mission is to ignite a fire deep within you that can unleash your own potentials to live vivaciously and audaciously on your own terms. Art can bring that to you – it truly is magical in how it inspires you to feel and dream about a brighter future.”

Magdalena works out of her sunlight drenched home studio, and with her cat George sitting by her side she works on creating beauty for the world. With her courageous process of layering paint, Magdalena demonstrates her talent for creating depth in her artworks. Each piece invites you into the painting – get lost, explore, dream and re-emerge with a new insight about yourself and the world around you. Her highly intuitive process creates a deep connection to her heart & soul. And it is that energy that flows straight into every piece – from her to you.

Magdalena dreams about moving to the countryside one day and run week-long retreats for fellow artists to connect with each other, discover themselves and paint together.

“Because painting is not just what we do, it is a way of life – living in full colour. “
