This painting evolved over time - very intuitively. It had a real sense of discovery along the way. It has many layers and even some of the very first one is still peeking through in some areas, intentionally. Building layers is one of my greatest passion when it comes to creating my abstract pieces. It creates depth in which you can get lost and discover new things every time you look at it. It's a never ending experience.
Both main areas of interest in this artwork are connected by a tether that is delicate yet strong all the same. It bridges the gap between the two sides of the canvas and ignites a deeper and meaningful connection.
This is a metaphor to how we are as humans. We come from all parts of life, we all have different cultural backgrounds and many different experiences, and identities. And yet, we are all connected. On this planet. In this life. Tethered together.
Inspiring empathy and tolerance, and bridging those different worlds to allow for all of us to co-exist. Without judgment. You are beautiful as you are. The sum of each of our experiences is what makes us truly unique and beautiful. Let's embrace that beauty and celebrate our connections.
